Sponsored by Miller's Professional ImagingSo let's have the hard talks. The potentially uncomfortable talks. But the ones that grow us not only as a person, but as professional documentarians and storytellers.
Diversity is a huge words with so many meanings, but building a diverse portfolio is one huge branch of that. When potential clients come to us, they are looking to see their families reflected in our work. On a heart level They are looking to work with people that understand their culture, their backgrounds. On a technical level they are looking to work with an artist that they feel confident knows how to honor and edit their unique skin tones.
This class will aim to help you make sure that everyone has a seat at your table.
That everyone sees themselves reflected in your work.
Building a diverse portfolio begins first with being intentional about diversity in your day to day life. This class will give you ideas on how to make sure that you are pulling in an array of people into your circle, making portfolio diversity a natural extension.
Building a diverse portfolio also involves very intentional model calls and professional intention. This class will help you design and implement model calls that have a laser focus on being inclusive.
Lastly, this class will help you take a deeper dive into a variety of skin tones. How to edit for certain skin tones, how to edit for a variety of skin tones within the same session and how styling and light play a big factor in the final outcome as well.
As a mom of a very diverse, biracial crew growing up in the South, I am passionate about seeing this and have so much personal experience to add relatably.
